Tractor Driving Course

Overview

The Work Equipment Regulations require employers to provide adequate training and to ensure that tractors are driven only by employees who have received appropriate training in their safe use, including with attachments and trailers. The basic 1-day course will cover the following:

Course content

• Machine Preparation and Safety
• Personal Protective Equipment
• Controls and implements
• Observation
• Tractor Handling and Driving
• Safe Stop

The course can also be extended to incorporate the following area:

• Hitching/manoeuvring with trailed implements
• Hitching/manoeuvring with mounted implements
• Manoeuvring with a mounted implement
• Driving on Slopes
• Front End Loader
• Fitting and operation of PTOs (not suitable for 13-16 year olds)
